The Vin Diesel workout

Mention the name Vin Diesel and visions of action-packed Arnold Schwarzenegger-type movies come to mind. The fact is Vinny has become a popular choice as old Arnie’s successor in the celluloid world now that the former Mr. Olympia is more concerned with running the state of California.

Both Diesel and Schwarzenegger, of course, capitalized on their well-chiseled bodies to the hilt in order to earn that coveted spot in Hollywood movies. But while Schwarzenegger had his reputation as champion bodybuilder as launching pad for his movie career, Vinny has little to show in terms of musclemen championship trophies.

The beefcake that was the end-result of the Vin Diesel workout is not just based on weight training involving barbells, dumbbells and some exotic exercise machines. His exercise regimen also includes Yoga and Pilates. Yoga he does for maintaining flexibility which is also useful for injury-free weight training. He indulges in Pilates exercises to increase strength and emphasize the definition of his six-pack abs. Now these are truly winning combinations.

What is not forgotten in the Vin Diesel workout is the importance of nutrition. In addition to sculpting his physique through free weights, Vinny takes several small meals a day which is the recommendation for those who want to develop rippled and well-toned muscles. Six to eight small meals is the rule of thumb here. Protein supplements are mainstays to complement such diet which needs to contain not only the requisite food nutrition but also energy sources for effective and sustained workout performance.
