Christian Bale
Batman Workout Revealed
The continuing saga of Batman in its sequel the Dark Night
continues to dazzle audiences. What is even more captivating is
the Christian Bale Batman workout that has quickly transformed
the actor who has the physique of a scrawny runner (which he
is) to a buffed superhero. The training program that Christian
Bale used to make him suitable for the role consists of some
compound exercises that entail explosive power movements that
also promoted agility and speed. A sampling of this exercise
regimen include high pulls, jump squats, power cleans and bench
press.
The bench press is different from the ordinary weight
training exercise in that it is one explosive workout. A Smith
machine is used in this Christian Bale Batman workout. Here he
starts out in the locked-out position, lowering the weight to
the chest. Then, with an explosive movement he leaves the bar
of his hands allowing the bar to fall but catching it again for
another explosive but always controlled movement. This exercise
increases Christian Bale’s stamina that is necessary for him to
sustain the grueling hours of shooting as well as improve his
physique for the Batman role.
For development of secondary muscles involving the
shoulders, triceps and back, the Christian Bale Batman workout
involves an incline bench and barbell. To start this exercise,
he lies on the incline bench and with an even grip on the bar,
just outside shoulder-width. His shoulder, backside and feet
are kept firmly planted on the bench. The weight is un-racked
and lowered to the upper chest, followed by a brief pause. The
weight is then driven to its starting position for another rep
that helped the Dark Knight such a success among audiences.
