Bench Press Workout for Beginners – Your Complete Guide

1.Start by lying flat on the bench. Make sure that you are in a comfortable position with your lower back not completely flat on the bench. Put your feet flat on the ground.
2.Stretch out your hand to your sides then bend your elbows. Bring your hands up to grip the bar on the rough surface. This should bring your hands shoulder width apart. For a standard bench press workout, simply wrap your thumb and fingers around the bar.
3.Once you have properly positioned yourself, lift the bar off the rack and bring it above the middle chest area. Lower it down until it is almost touching your chest. As you lower it down, inhale slowly such that when it reaches the lowest position, your lungs are full. Push the bar up until your elbows are nearly at complete flexion. Exhale as you push up. Do eight repetitions for the first set.

2.Begin your bench press workout by lifting just the bar without added weight first until you become accustomed to the routine.
3.When you lift the bar up, do not bounce it off the chest as this causes injuries.
